I approach textiles as more than functional objects; they are repositories of memory, cultural history, and personal narrative. Each thread, stitch, or woven pattern carries a story—of labor, care, and invisible hands that have shaped homes and identities over generations. By placing these materials into a fine art context, I seek to challenge traditional hierarchies of art and craft, questioning what constitutes "high art" and the value we assign to the domestic sphere. The tactility of fabric and the repetition of textile techniques evoke a sense of intimacy and time. By repurposing these materials, I blur the boundaries between art and everyday life, offering viewers a space to reconsider their relationship with the objects that surround them. My work engages in a dialogue with the past, while simultaneously crafting a new narrative that speaks to issues of gender, labor, and the inherent beauty found in the mundane. In translating domestic textiles to fine art, I aim to honor the invisible labor that often goes unnoticed, celebrating the overlooked artfulness that exists in the fabric of everyday life. Each piece invites reflection on the complex layers of identity, tradition, and creativity woven into the textiles we so often take for granted.
