Edward Hopper House Juried Members Exhibit

RULES AND GUIDELINES

Artist Entry: Exhibitors must be current Edward Hopper House Museum Members at the Artist ($65), Friend ($125) or Patron ($300) levels through December 1, 2024, and be 18+ years of age. Questions on your membership status?  Contact members@hopperhouse.org or call 845.358.0774

Registration Fee: $25 Entry Fee due with completed registration. Registration fees are not refundable. Entry fees help defray costs of exhibit management. 

Number of Works: Each artist may enter two (2) works, with one (1) to be selected per juried in artist (You may NOT substitute another piece to exhibit for the registered work.)

Media: Wall mounted works of fine art in oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media (please list materials), fine art prints, drawing, and photography only. Note: Giclée prints of original artwork are not allowed, nor are crafts, pottery, or sculpture due to space limitations.

Size: Works may not exceed 30 x 30 x 5 inches. 

Ready for Install: All work must be framed and/or ready for installation with hanging hardware, wire, and D-rings installed. Works without any or appropriate hanging hardware will not be included in the exhibition, nor will any wet paintings or work requiring special installation or handling.

REGISTRATION

Artwork Image: Provide a high resolution .jpg of your work for use on our website, social media, and press. Please photograph the work with a white/gray background

IMPORTANT CALENDAR DATES

  • September 29 - Online Registration Deadline
  • October 7 -11 - Juror’s Notification
  • October 28-29 - Artwork Drop-Off
  • November 1 - OPENING RECEPTION, 5-7
  • December 1 - Exhibition Last day
  • December 2-3 (10a-4p) - Artwork Pick-Up

TRANSPORT

The artist is responsible for providing round-trip shipping, packaging, and postal insurance.

All registered work must be brought to and picked up from EHHM during the designated dates/times. Artwork will not be accepted before or after these dates. (Any arrangements must be made in advance with, and approved by, EHHM for any works delivered and returned by UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Prepaid shipping labels will be required.)

Artwork must be unpacked at drop off; no packing material will be accepted or held by EHHM. Affix an identification label to your work for delivery to EHHM. Carefully attach the label (to be removed) lightly to the back.

EHHM is unable to store or hold any work for any time, and will not be responsible for any loss or damage after January XX. Artists will be charged $20 for EACH day work is not picked up.

INSURANCE

EHHM will not insure work or be responsible for loss or damage. Your signature upon delivery and at pick-up releases EHHM from responsibility from losses.

If you prefer, you may retain your own insurance. You, the artist, will maintain personal insurance, and hold harmless the EHHM and its board members for any and all possible damages that may occur during the time period of your exhibition at the location stated. The artist accepts the risks involved and maintains that their own insurance is sufficient coverage. Should EHHM be subject to accruing a loss for any damages to the walls and space provided, the artist will accept and pay the charge as provided by EHHM contractor of choice. 

Completed online registration and payment indicates understanding and acceptance of this agreement.
