William Rattner

Billy Rattner, a Rockland County native is showing his art for the first time. He has no formal art education but has been richly influenced by the art he was exposed to as the nephew of *Marjorie Strider* a pioneering figure in the Pop Art movement in 1960s NYC. Billy spent many years as an award winning sommelier in the Hudson Valley and his creativity was on constant display. It is in recent years that he has been able to focus primarily on his art and he is excited to share his work.

Statement

I am a contemporary artist whose work defies formal training, embodying a raw, instinctive connection to my craft. Despite being untaught, my art is marked by bold experimentation and an emotional intensity that speaks to both personal and universal themes. My process is driven by intuition, allowing me to explore a wide range of mediums and styles with abstract expressionism being at the forefront.
My artistic journey is influenced by my rich familial connection to the art world. I am the nephew of the late *Marjorie Strider*, a pioneering figure in the 1960s *Pop Art* movement known for her playful, three-dimensional paintings that challenged the boundaries of the genre. While my work differs from Strider’s in style and execution, I am constantly honoring her commitment to pushing creative boundaries and challenging traditional artistic norms.
My work has a raw, unfiltered quality that  I hope will appeal to collectors and art enthusiasts seeking originality and depth.
This is the first time I have shown my work.
