Samantha Curtis

Born in Massachusetts, I came to NYC to work in THE LIGHT GALLERY, Getler Pall Gallery and enroll at Pratt for graduate School. I am mother to identical twin boys (Md and chemistry teacher) and a vegan most of my life. I am passionate about animal rights, my two dogs (9year old American Staffordshire and a 12 3year old pjppy mill stud rescue wjo I named Oliver Chevalier. I have been studying french for two and a half years and love it. In 2022 Summer I visited Paris and Versailles.and in 2023 Summer I travelled to France and Italy. I love Europe and hope to live there when i grow up.

I am a graduate of Pratt Institute MFA in Painting and BA in Photography. An artist's work keeps evolving and mine has recently been taking me in the direction of capturing moments between people.  "Cafe Society" depicts friends sharing a conversation. The painting has detail and energy added by using oil pastel and oil markers. I love flashy boots and included my fashion sense on their feet.

The second painting is called "The Glance"...a 20" x 20" mixed media painting capturing the moment when the young man glances curiously at a woman and their eyes meet .

I have shown work for many years. My work can be viewed on FB Samanthacurtisgalleryny, Blue Door Art Association, Westchester Arts, Saatchi Art gallery.and Katonah Museum Artists Association. I am employed as a painting and drawing Instructor. This year my work was shown at Fashion Week Summit Gallery, Blue Door Zapatos Show, Women in Action Show at Blue Door, Healing Hallways (Katonah Museum) at Northern Westchester Hospital..
